On May 17th and 18th, the Kosmoz Wellness Center had the honour of hosting a profound and transformative two-day gathering with Sommaiy, a former forest monk from Southeast Asia. With over two decades dedicated to daily meditation and the study of Buddhist philosophy in remote monasteries in Laos, Sommaiy shared his journey with participants in a rare space of silence, awareness, and deep connection.
The sessions combined teachings on mindful living, guided meditation practices, and moments of open sharing — creating a serene and welcoming environment for reconnecting with what is essential: inner peace and genuine presence.
Among the participants, Paula Simbine shared her personal reflection:
“This is something I’ve been trying to explore in my life. A friend introduced me to the event and it sparked my interest. The experience was extremely positive. I realised that I want to cultivate the ability to hear my own voice, understand my emotions — and silence helps with that.”
She also noted the importance of regular practice:
“I saw that it’s possible, but it requires technique and a deeper understanding. It’s a process that must be cultivated and learned. It may not be for everyone, but anyone with genuine interest can do it. As for my future, I plan to begin practising more regularly. It brings a very meaningful inner peace and helps with deeper self-awareness.”
Throughout the event, Sommaiy shared not as a master, but as a fellow traveller — with humility, clarity, and deep respect for silence. The atmosphere over the two days was one of true listening, intentional stillness, and openness to personal transformation.
Kosmoz Wellness Center extends heartfelt gratitude to all who participated and helped shape this unique moment. May the teachings and insights from this experience continue to inspire stillness, clarity, and compassion in daily life.
